HILCO Electric Cooperative is pleased to offer this program to our members. The program allows you to schedule your own payments toward your electric billing and helps you manage your own electric usage. YOU are in control!

Flexible Payment Options. The Prepaid Metering Program allows you to schedule your own payments toward your electric bill. Each day HILCO will bill you for your previous day's usage and deduct the bill amount from the credit on your account. Not only will you be able to make payments as you wish, but you also gain the knowledge of how much power you are consuming on a daily basis. Daily balances are available for review at ebill.hilco.coop and communicated to your in-home display. If you do not purchase the in-home display, you will have to access your account balance online. HILCO's only duty is to send notice by email, but service will be terminated whether or not the member actually receives the message.

Prepaid Metering Plan

Pay as you go and manage your own electric usage.

Eligibility. To be eligible for the Prepaid Metering Program, the member must

    • Have current and past due billing paid
    • Have all un-billed miscellaneous charges paid
    • Pay for all un-billed usage, as of the date member account is added to the Prepaid Metering Program and/or purchase an in-home display. (If you do not have and maintain an active email address, you are required to purchase an in-home display to participate in the program.)
    • Set up their account with a minimum credit of $100.00

No Deposit. If you have an existing deposit on your account, HILCO will immediately apply that deposit to your account. No deposit is required for accounts set up on the prepaid billing program.

Responsibility. By signing the Prepaid Billing Program agreement form, you are agreeing to abide by the HILCO Electric Cooperative Tariff governing the prepaid billing program. HILCO will send notice either by email or, if you do no have email, through the in-home display when your credit balance is at $40.00 or less. (You may elect to receive notifications at a remaining balance of more than $40.00.) Once the fund balance on your electric account is depleted to zero, you will have terminated your service and the account will immediately be disconnected whether or not you received the notice. The daily base rate will continue to accumulate, even if the electric meter is deactivated. The member assumes all liability for and holds harmless HILCO Electric Cooperative, Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and agents for any and all damages of everything resulting from an automatic disconnection or reconnection of service.

Paperless Billing. Instead of receiving a paper bill once each month, your usage is calculated on a daily basis and available online through HILCO's website at ebill.hilco.coop. Perhaps the best part of all, you will have the ability to check your daily usage to see how much power you are using and possibly adjust your usage to save energy.

No Late Fees. We've saved the best for last! Because your account is "Pay As You Go," and paid in advance, there should never be any late fees.
