While some manufactured units sit on foundations, most are placed on jack stands or blocks concealed by skirting around the base of the unit. Over time, skirting often fails and is removed, allowing air to flow underneath the home. Additionally, without solid underpinning, animals and rodents can access the underside of the home, causing damage to insulation and duct work which results in dramatic energy loss.
